Acupressure Shiatsu, one form of Asian Bodywork, uses gentle hand and finger pressure along the body's energy channels. It stimulates and facilitates the natural healing capabilities of the body, guided by the principles of traditional Chinese medicine. The objective is to restore and balance the flow of energy throughout the body.
Acupressure Shiatsu uses the same theories, assessment tools, and point locations as Acupuncture but without needles.
Techniques including gentle rotations, palming, stretching and thumbing to assess the relative strength of the twelve organ meridians. The practitioner then addresses specific physical complaints and their corresponding energy imbalances by working on individual energy channels. The massage and rhythmic compression of Acupressure Shiatsu produces a deeper level of relaxation which in turn reduces stress and strengthens the body's natural healing ability.
Acupressure Shiatsu is suitable for people of all ages, including children and seniors. It is an excellent means of keeping yourself in an optimal health condition - physically and mentally - and strengthening your resistance to illness
